Hi Everyone! As I sat in the living room tonight playing the songs for this year's installment of the show, I couldn't believe how it seemed to have come so quickly this year! Thank you for your emails, and kind wishes, and sharing your memories of the show over the years! Thanks to all of you who've joined us on Facebook at the "Mountain Snow and Mistletoe Page"! John Kirk is winging his way home from a tour of Central Europe and Turkey just in time for the show this year, I'm sure he'll have stories to tell!! Brian has been on the road with Cathie Ryan, the great Celtic singer, and everyone else under the sun, including our own irrepressible Celt, Kevin McKrell! All through my travels to the Adirondacks over the summer, and everywhere else, I've been looking forward to Bridget and my chance to bring the show to "the big stage with the boys" and here we go!!! We can't believe how quickly this year is flying! Thanksgiving next week, we'll blink, and it will be Christmas!!!! In the "blink" though is this year's installment of "Mountain Snow and Mistletoe" on December 10th at 8 PM and December 11th at 2 PM at the Egg in Albany! I don't know if it's Holiday Spirit, a little up turn in the economy, the fact that the post card reminders just went out ( or probably all three ; >), but ticket sales are already ahead of schedule, and it's not even Thanksgiving!!??!?!!? Mountain Snow 2011 & November 13 Flood Benefit at Indian Lake

Hi Everyone! It's that time of year again, Mountain Snow & Mistletoe 2011 is coming fast! This year's shows are at 8 PM Saturday the 10th , and 2 PM Sunday the 11th of December. I spoke with the Executive Director of "The Egg", our buddy Peter Lesser, who informed us that ticket sales for this year's show are already off to the races! Get your tickets ASAP at www.theegg.org/events/958 or by calling 518-473-1845. Bridget and I, John Kirk, Kevin McKrell, and head elf Brian Melick are loading up the sleigh for another wild ride into the holidays, so plan on an evening/afternoon of getting into the spirit! On a more somber note, Irene took her toll on the Adirondacks, total devastation in some areas have left many in GREAT need this holiday season. Most of you remember my buddy Tom Akstens, my bandmate from the group Big Trout Radio. In addition to being a fantastic musician, Tom is a great guy, and has organized the benefit you'll read about below. Unfortunately, Bridget and I were already scheduled for the date of the show and will be out of town, but we urge all who read this to support Tom and his efforts with our other friends! Many of the best-known acoustic musicians in the Adirondacks will gather at the Indian Lake Theater on November 13 to benefit victims of Hurricane Irene. The concert will begin at 2pm. Every dollar of proceeds will go directly to flood relief in the towns of Keene, Jay, and elsewhere in the Adirondacks. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Tickets may be reserved by calling the theater at 648-5950. Performers include renowned harper Martha Gallagher and her husband Dennis of Keene, whose home was severely damaged in the flood. Julie Robinson-Robards of Upper Jay, who lost her business in the storm, will also appear. They will be joined by Roy Hurd, whose song Adirondack Blue has become a regional anthem, and by Peggy Lynn and Dan Berggren, songwriters and song collectors who are icons of Adirondack acoustic music. The Beeline Ramblers, an exciting duo from over the border in the Berkshires, heard about the devastation from Irene and volunteered to help. Two performers from Johnsburg, Carolyn Bischoff and Tom Akstens, complete the program. This event is a celebration of Adirondack spirit, Tom Akstens said. The Indian Lake Theater will be filled with a remarkable collection of singers and musicians. It will be like a one-day festival. The audience will hear some of the best original songs anywhere, as well as Celtic, traditional country, blues and ragtime. The interaction among the musicians should be amazing. The concert has been made possible by the generosity of the Indian Lake Theater, which donated the space, and by the Adirondack Community Trust, who will see that the proceeds go where they are needed most.

Hey Folks, The tradition is that the Mountain Snow Orchestra, Bridget, and I have the dress rehearsal here at the house on the day before the first show, and today is no exception! I started on the French Onion Soup recipe yesterday, am headed to the store for the sandwich goodies right after I send you this! It's lunch first, then it's strictly business,... honest,... you believe me don't you? Aw ca'mon, would WE fool around at rehearsal, who are you talking about here?!?!?!?!?! Hi Everybody! Chris and Bridget are proud to announce that renowned bassist, and long time friend and producer Tony Markellis will be joining them and John Kirk, Kevin McKrell, and Brian Melick for the 2010 rendition of Mountain Snow and Mistletoe at the Egg in Albany on Saturday December 11 at 8 PM, and Sunday December 12 at 2 PM! Tony Markellis is a bassist and record producer from Helena, Montana, now residing in Saratoga Springs, New York. His career spans over thirty-five years, playing blues, folk, jazz, rock and country music with such diverse artists as Trey Anastasio, Paul Butterfield, The Mamas & the Papas, Johnny Shines, David Bromberg, David Amram, The Unknown Blues Band featuring Big Joe Burrell, Paul Siebel, Rosalie Sorrels, Eric Von Schmidt, Ellen McIlwaine, Esther Satterfield, Mary McCaslin, Rosanne Raneri, Sarah Pedinotti and Jo Henley. In the late 1990s, Markellis rose to national prominence as an original member of the first solo band of Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio, forming the rhythm section with drummer Russ Lawton. Including his work with Anastasio, Markellis has appeared on over one hundred albums. In addition to occasional tours with Trey and the band, he is currently working with the acoustic blues power trio No Outlet, groundbreaking jazz fusion quartet Kilimanjaro, vocal tr io The Burns Sisters and singer/songwriters Michael Jerling and Bob Warren. On June 20, 2010 (Fathers Day), Tony was invited on stage at Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) to play bass w/ Phish on "Gotta Jibboo" (one of the songs he cowrote with Trey and Russ Lawton for the Trey Anastasio Band). Tony co produced Chris' album "Been to Town and Back Again", Bridget's album "Bricks and Windows", and the couples album "Songs from the Big Front Porch". Hi Everybody! As everyone is scrambling around ordering turkeys, getting the pumpkin pie ingredients together, checking the football schedule, and realizing all we have to be thankful for this last year,... behind the scenes the Mountain Snow and Mistletoe elves are already busy putting this year's version of the show together! We'll be back at the fabulous Egg in Albany NY at the Swyer Theater on December 11 at 8 PM, and Sunday December 12 at 2 PM with the amazing John Kirk, the legendary Kevin McKrell, and that force of nature Brian Melick, with the second decade of Mountain Snow and Mistletoe! Everyone raved about the Swyer Theater after last year's show, and who will forget Kevin getting stuck in the elevator just before showtime with all those folks from the audience!!?!?!?!?? What a way to make an entrance! Who knows what the surprises will be this year??!??! ( Remember the year John, Kevin, and Brian dressed up like elves and we all did the round, "Elves are short!")
